Rev. Terrance Hawkins

Terrance is a native of Winston-Salem, NC. He has served locally as a community organizer, speaker, musician, & pastor for the last 15 years. Terrance is the co-founder of a collective of justice & peace-activists called the “Drum Majors Alliance” & the founder of a youth development initiative called “Lit City”. Terrance is the husband & co-conspirator of Allonda Hawkins & the father of 4 children. They are both currently leading a budding black & people of color-centered covenant community that is rooted in the liberationist tradition of the Hush Harbors. Terrance is an organic theologian & art-ivist who is more comfortable in ‘the streets’ & the arts community, than in the seminary & the academy. He hopes to bring a lens to this project that emphasizes the need for the mission of The Church & the “guerilla exegesis” of informally educated black & brown communities of faith to intersect with the arts & radical social movement building.
