Venneikia is the Associate Director of Faith for Justice, an organization based in St. Louis, Missouri, seeking to equip churches and community members to pursue the biblical call to action in the public sphere. Faith for Justice invites people to participate in the biblical-prophetic tradition by creating, coordinating and promoting events which offer forums for teaching and discussion in order to promote public justice in St. Louis and beyond.
Venneikia is a worship leader, community organizer, and sociologist whose interests lie within the intersections of race, gender, and faith. She has served in leadership roles in several campus ministries and churches in the Winston-Salem and Chapel Hill areas. She currently attends South City Church in St. Louis, where she coordinates worship and outreach efforts.
She serves as a committee member for ActionSTL (formerly St. Louis Action Council) and actively aids in campaigns to end cash bail and empower impacted peoples and communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently completing a Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Venneikia will contribute to this project her unique gifts of communications and curriculum development toward the goal of decolonizing Christianity.
